2012 Student Art Competition Winners

Art educators from 9 schools and studios participated by having their students enter their art.  Sixty students submitted 100 original art works that were splayed for judging.  Awards were presented at a reception for the students, parents, and teachers, and a sense of community among the emerging artists and their mentors was fostered.

Toms River North High School’s Chris Lesniak (from left) took first place for his colored pencil piece entitled “Hungary Like A Wolf.” Red Bank Regional scored both second and third place prizes with Scott Chinery of Rumson taking second place with his self portrait in oil, and Amber Boris of Neptune City received third place for her charcoal piece entitled “Bahamian Still,” at the 18th annual Monmouth Festival of the Arts Student Competition.
